Pencil Trays for The Frick Collection
I was commissioned by The Frick Collection in New York City to make these wooden trays to hold pencils and erasers for their drawing programs.
It was an honor to make something used regularly by so many talented artists in such a prestigious museum.
These black walnut trays were custom made to hold nine types of pencils and two sections of erasers.
To see the trays in person and sketch at the museum you can attend their First Friday events or ongoing drawing programs.
The trays were constructed using traditional box joinery and half-lap joinery for both durability and design purposes.
