A REWARDING COLLABORATION WITH MOUNT SINAI’S LIGHT AND HEALTH RESEARCH CENTER: DESIGN AND MAKE CIRCADIAN-EFFECTIVE LIGHT TABLES FOR ADULTS LIVING WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND RELATED DIMENTIAS

Based on initial prototype testing, sleep quality increased and depression scores decreased for older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias after regular exposure to self-luminous light tables.

We had a goal of bringing an abundance of daytime light to people in senior living communities via updated, ADA compliant versions of these LED-based light tables.

actigraph data from a recent study at Abe’s Garden Community in Nashville, TN showed that participants fell asleep faster, woke up less frequently in the night, and had better sleep efficiency during regular exposure to these tables.

An article about the light tables and accompanying research study is in the June/July 2023 issue of Designing Lighting magazine.
